72 inch long by 2-3 inch wide strip of firm to medium temper. Vegetable tanned full grain will be best. Something like a “Latigo” leather is good
Finals dimension of strap are 2” wide by 58” - but I like to give myself extra to work. I also have a strap cutter so I can adjust the width easily. If you do not have a strap cutter it is best to order the strap at the final dimensions of 2”.
